Fighting the War on Error

Polls open in 25.5 hours...

Good morning, all. So much to bring you today, but so little time to do it. I'm still working on a three book reviews - State of Denial, by Bob Woodward; The Greatest Story Ever Sold: The Decline and Fall of Truth, from 9/11 to Katrina, by Frank Rich; and None Dare Call it Stolen: Ohio, the Election and America's Servile Press, by Mark Crispin Miller.

I probably won't have time to get to all of the book reviews before tomorrow, but I hope to get to them this week.

I really want to write about Pat Tillman and hopefully the possibility of election fraud - every American citizen should be concerned with the legitimacy of our elections with the new electronic voting machines. Many, many stories have been done about how easy they can be hacked and altered. This isn't a Democrat or Republican issue - this is an American issue.

I woke up this morning to a new Pew Research Poll showing that Republicans have narrowed the gap for tomorrow's election: 47% - 43%. I'm not at all surprised for three reasons: 1. As I've said many times, the GOP will do virtually anything to hold onto power, 2. The timing of the Saddam trial - it was moved up to coincide with the election, and if you think this administration wouldn't do that, you haven't been paying attention these last 5+ years, and 3. The Kerry flub from last week has served as a wonderful distraction to the unhappiness of voters about how things are going in Iraq, the economy, you name it. So, as I blogged yesterday, when the goin' gets tough, the tough get better PR, and the Republicans have done just that. We'll see tomorrow whether it's worked or not.

Anyway, I have to get off to work - I have a 1.5 hour commute ahead of me. I'll probably get a few small posts up mid-day and then some more stuff tonight. Thanks for reading and keeping up with my avalanche of posts.
