Fighting the War on Error

A vicious anti-John Sununu ad

Check out this anti-John Sununu ad from The Granite State. I always anticipate that ads during the political season will get ugly, but with the war dragging on and Repubes' stubbornness about ending it, 2008 stands to be a particularly acrimonious campaign. Adding to the ferocity of the campaigning is what's at stake - the balance of power in the Senate - 21 Republicans are up for reelection, and 12 by Democrats. Vicious

This election will be a golden opportunity for the Democrats to increase their slimest of slim leads in the Senate.

The longer the war drags on, and the longer Bush keeps sticking his foot in his mouth and making disastrous decisions (don't both seem likely?), the better the Democrats' chances in widening their lead in the Senate next year.
