SIC concludes Bush administration lied about pre-war intelligence
Almost four years after Senator Pat Roberts (R-KS) smugly and arrogantly cleared the Bush White House of any wrongdoing on intelligence matters during the run-up to the War in Iraq, yesterday, Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), Roberts' successor on the Senate Intelligence Committee, reached a harshly different conclusion:
"The president and his advisers undertook a relentless public campaign in the aftermath of the attacks to use the war against Al Qaeda as a justification for overthrowing Saddam Hussein."Do I think it will make a difference? I'm guessing probably not. But, it won't help any prominent Republican who has been with Bush every step of the way, including Roberts, one of the most blatantly partisan Republican Senators who is running for re-election against Jim Slattery, and McSame, who might just as well sit on President Bush's shoulder (with Lieberman on the other), he's such a parrot for Bush regarding Iraq.
