Oilers grow wings, beat Detroit
Edmonton looks like it might finally be coming around after beating the Detroit Red Wings last night in an OT shootout, 4-3. Above, Oiler Marty Reasoner celebrates his third-period, game-tying goal last night.
However, they need to keep winning. I can't wait to see the game tomorrow evening against Minnesota. It's huge - HUGE. They must win to keep pace and to pick up ground on the Wild. This coming week is the biggest of the regular season - a big games on Sunday and Tuesday for the Oilers, but most importantly, Tuesday is the trading deadline. I can only hope and cross my fingers for some help on defense, because this team needs it more than any other Edmonton team in recent memory. If the team is to make the playoffs, the blueline must be bolstered.
Last night, amidst my insomnia, I was poking around some different blogs, and I found this picture of a home made hockey rink north of the border. How awesome is this? Quite cool! You are looking at one of the biggest reasons I love and follow a Canadian hockey team.
Go Oilers!
