Fighting the War on Error

The smear, fear and Spears ticket

This one is pretty good - yet another reason to like presidential election years. We get to select a new leader, and all the parody pieces that hit the 'Net. This one is an early favorite.

The Swift Kids strike again

It's already started - the Swifties are at it again. This time, their target is Barack Obama.

Oh Barack, you naughty boy.

Okay, this one's a little out there, I know, but I'll say this - unlike Bush, at least Barack put his past drug use out there for all to see and he's being honest about it.

Just wanted to bring you a little humor to lighten the mood, since I've been writing so much serious stuff lately.

Enjoy.

Great Bush parody

This is a pretty funny parody piece that's creatively produced around a President Bush press conference, much like the Coors Light commercials that have been getting lots of air time lately.

A hilarious, bipartisan cartoon

This is one of the better political parodies I've seen on TV in a long time. Vandra and I laughed and laughed when we saw this on Saturday Night Live over the weekend.

After it was over, I said to Vandra, "I've GOT to find this on the Web somewhere!" Major kudos to Crooks & Liars for getting it up so quickly. Thanks to that great Website, I'm happy to bring it to you.

And I love it because it takes on the candidates of both political parties. Giuliani is fantastic - so is Romney. Hillary looks downright disturbing, but is also funny in this. They even got in Al Gore!

Anyway, watch this, and pass it on - it's good stuff.

The Democratic Super Friends

If you're not in Generation X, you may not truly appreciate this.

It's a modern-day version of The Super Friends, a cartoon I never missed on Saturday mornings when I was growing up.

I just watched this three times in a row. It's awesome. So far in this young presidential campaign, this is my favorite parody video.

Our would-be AG gets billboard love

I found this one last week and forgot to post it - it's a "billboard" of Utah Senator Orrin Hatch, but I assume the pic has been Photoshopped.

Evidently, Hatch has self-serving billboards all over Utah that get on some people's nerves, from what I've read.

I've never liked Hatch, ever, other than he's one of the few Repubes who is for stem-cell research.

I blogged last week about Hatch, jeering him for bucking for attorney general before Gonzo is gonezo. Give it a week or two, Orrin - you'll have your shot at getting shot down during Senate confirmation. All kidding aside, he'd probably get confirmed by the Senate if offered the job of AG, but it's just downright tacky to be campaigning for it, even if quietly.

Anyway, I like the billboard effort.

Ahh, the wonder of the Internet.

McCain visits Portland, Maine

I found this today on Dependable Renegade and laughed for about 10 minutes. Good stuff.

I couldn't think of a good line, other than "Maine is now safe from Canada - there is no insurgency. I don't know who these troops are!"
